fanboy - A person, either male or female, who is a hopeless addict or fan of something or someone; distinctive traits usually being someone who is an outcast from society (dork), obscssive about his object of interest to the point of scaring others, and recklessly stupid, yet humorous behavior. Though the term "fangirl" is often used to describe the female of the species, "fanboy" can be used to describe all people of this type. (Neither "fanboy" nor "fangirl" would be acceptable to people of this type who spell "women" as "womyn.")

e.g., All the fanboys at the convention were clamoring to get Leonard Nimoy's autograph on their Vulcan ears.
