FanBoyWonder TV Spotlight: Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles
FanBoyWonder has been hearing serious buzz about and we find ourselves becoming moderately excited by this weekend’s upcoming premiere of a new, non-“reality” television offering--Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.
Here’s the Upshot from the FOX Network: The Sarah Connor Chronicles reveals what happens when Sarah (Lena Headey) stops running and goes on the offensive against an ever-evolving technological enemy bent on destroying the world. Her son, 15-year-old John Connor (Thomas Dekker), knows that he may be the future savior of mankind, but is not yet ready to take on the mantle of leadership that he's told is his destiny. John finds himself inextricably drawn to Cameron (Summer Glau), who soon proves to be much more than his confidante as she assumes the role of Sarah and John's fearless protector.
From what we understand this small screen take on the Terminator movie franchise advances the story just a couple of years after 1991’s Terminator 2: Judgment Day and thankfully ignores the events that transpired during that $50 million campaign commercial for the now Guvenator of Kali-forn-ia otherwise known as Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (2003).

While we will admit that we are starting to chafe at the writer’s strike induced drought of original television program (for a good cause—Go Writers Guild!), we’re pretty sure we would still be inclined to check out Chronicles given that the Terminator movies (at least the first two) are sentimental favorites.
We’ve been favorably impressed from the small video snippets that we’ve seen—including hot, heavily-armed chicks and naked time-travel—yet given how badly we were burned by NBC’s Bionic Woman, we’re not ready to blindly commit to a series sight unseen, no matter how promising the premise.
